Long before President Trump assumed office in January 2025, leftist lawfare organizations were gaming out how to tie up President Trump and his administration in federal court. The result is literally dozens of lawsuits in various different federal courts all seeking to slow or stop President Trump and his administration from implementing policy. Many of the lawsuits moved quickly, involving Temporary Restraining Orders and emergency hearings along with efforts to get emergency review of court orders by higher courts. I planned to write about many of these efforts all along, but felt my readers would be better served by letting the cases develop for at least a few weeks. The next few articles I write will deal with some of these cases and the unprecedented efforts by activist, leftists judges to legislate from the bench.
This week, I will focus on the federal district court’s decision in the Refugee Resettlement case. The case involves some complicated legal issues. I will do my best to make sense of it all.
