The Special Counsel Who Indicted Trump is Under Investigation
Did you know this? Probably not, since Fake News Media refuse to report on it.
The federal prosecutors specially appointed to persecute (not prosecute, but persecute) President Trump are under investigation for potential misconduct of their own. The Fake News Media, however, is too busy promoting and defending the Special Counsel, and lying about President Trump, to report on it. Here is what we know.
Background on the Special Counsel
As you undoubtedly know, on November 18, 2022 Biden Regime U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Jack Smith as Special Counsel to investigate President Donald J. Trump. The efforts of Jack Smith and his team of prosecutors lead to two separate federal indictments of President Trump: one indictment in Florida for the alleged “mishandling” of classified documents (which I wrote about here) and another indictment in federal court in Washington, D.C., for allegedly conspiring to overturn the BS 2020 election results (which I wrote about here).
Readers will recall the DC Indictment resulted in the United States Supreme Court recognizing Presidential Immunity from criminal prosecution for the first time in this Nation’s history in a decision rendered in July 2024. (I wrote about that decision here.) After the SCOTUS Presidential Immunity ruling, the DC Indictment was on “life support” as I characterized it. Despite that, Special Counsel Jack Smith, with the aid of U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, blatantly attempted to interfere further in the 2024 Presidential Election with “October surprises” consisting of massive dumps of evidence and briefs. None of these illegitimate machinations worked. After Donald J. Trump won the 2024 Presidential Election, the Special Counsel asked the court to dismiss the Indictment (which the court did).
Jack Smith’s other indictment of Trump, the Florida documents case, was dismissed by the Judge presiding over the case back in July 2024. Smith appealed the dismissal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. After Trump won the election, the Special Counsel asked the Court of Appeal to dismiss the case (which it did).
Thus, Jack Smith’s blatant efforts to interfere in the Presidential Election by derailing President Trump’s candidacy failed completely. Though, as one might expect from a diabolical scoundrel like Smith, the cases were dismissed without prejudice, leaving the possibility the charges could be resurrected in the future. (However much you despise these cretins, it is not enough.)
Smith and His Band of Ethically Challenged Persecutors
As I noted when Jack Smith’s indictment of former President Trump was made public in Florida on the documents case, Smith and the passel of legal beagles he corralled to persecute Trump (the ones we know about at least), have a “checkered past” with respect to their ethics. I wrote:
Jack Smith is the Federal prosecutor who obtained wrongful convictions against a former Republican Governor of Virginia, Robert McConnel, which the United States Supreme Court unanimously overturned. He is the prosecutor who unsuccessfully prosecuted former U.S. Senator and Democrat presidential hopeful John Edwards over questionable campaign finance violations. In addition, troubling claims of prosecutorial misconduct, including alleged media leaks, illegal wiretaps and hiding evidence of innocence dog Smith over his prosecution of former Republican congressman Rick Renzi from Arizona. Jack Smith is the poster child for prosecutorial over-reach. And he is in charge of this critical investigation.
Another one of the top prosecutors on the Special Counsel’s team is Karen Gilbert. Gilbert was formerly chief of the narcotics section of the United States Attorney’s Office in Miami. Gilbert was one of three Assistant US Attorneys whose misconduct in the prosecution of a doctor in Miami resulted in extensive sanctions being imposed by the Court on the USA. Gilbert was “reassigned” from her position as chief of the narcotics section as a result of the episode. The misconduct included getting witnesses to record defense attorneys in violation of DOJ policy, failing to disclose before trial that the witnesses making the recordings were confidential informants for the Government and failing to turn over exculpatory evidence (meaning evidence tending to show a person charged with a crime is innocent) in violation of the law. The truth was only discovered because one of the witnesses mentioned he recorded his discussions with defense counsel during cross examination at trial. (The case is U.S. v. Shaygan for those interested in a deep dive on the prosecutorial misconduct which took place.)
Seems like a great bunch to put in charge of bringing the only federal criminal indictments against a former American President in our Nation’s history, don’t you think? Hold on, it gets worse.
A Whistleblower Reported Misconduct on Jack Smith in 2023
The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary has been investigating Jack Smith and his gang of persecutors. Specifically, the Committee has been investigating ethically and legally questionable conduct by Jay Bratt, one of the Special Counsel’s senior attorneys, including his orchestration of the unprecedented Federal raid on Mar-A-Lago and efforts by Bratt to strong arm one of the attorneys representing a co-defendant in the Florida documents case into getting his client to help the government. The Committee is also investigating allegations that another Jack Smith deputy, JP Cooney, spread “baseless” and “politically motivated conspiracy theories” in Roger Stone’s case and sought an extraordinarily long sentence for Stone. (You probably have not heard about those investigations either, but that is yet another story.)
During the course of these investigations, the Judiciary Committee learned about a whistleblower from Jack Smith’s team. The information currently publicly available is scant, but letters from House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jordan give us some insight into what is happening.
In June 2023, an attorney from Jack Smith’s Special Counsel office “self-reported” potential “misconduct” by Smith’s own team to the United States Department of Justice, Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR). We only learned about this on December 4, 2024, because U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, the Chairman of the U.S. House of Representative Committee on the Judiciary released a letter about being briefed on the investigation.
If you read the letter, you will see the Committee sought information from the Jeffrey Ragsdale, counsel for the OPR, about various issues involving Jack Smith and his team of hacks beginning in May 2024, but were rebuffed until after the election. The OPR waited until November 19, 2024 to brief the Committee. How about that?
Congress, while executing its Constitutional power of oversight over the federal government, requests information from a federal office (the OPR) responsible for investigating ethics complaints against the US DOJ about complaints filed against the attorneys appointed to prosecute former President Trump and that agency stonewalls Congress and ignores the requests for months. The OPR only briefed the Judiciary Committee AFTER the election. (Even the government watchdogs in the Biden Regime protect the Regime. Unbelievable.)
What did the US Department of Justice, Office of Professional Responsibility do with self-reported misconduct by a whistleblower on Jack Smith’s team? Not a thing. Nothing at all. Chairman Jordan’s letter outlines what happened:
So, the U.S. Department of Justice will not investigate self-reported misconduct because that might “interfere with” this BS prosecution? In fact, according to Chairman Jordan’s letter the investigation into the misconduct was not allowed to move forward until Jack Smith gave his “permission,” after the Presidential Election. Chairman Jordan had this to say about that:
Chairman Jordan is right, this process does not “inspire any confidence” in the OPR.
Chairman Jordan informed the OPR to “. . . preserve all existing and future records and materials related to the OPR’s investigation into Special Counsel Smith and members of his prosecution team.” That needed to be done without a doubt. What ultimately becomes of all of those records will be interesting to see.
As of now, the investigation by the OPR should move forward. Mark my words, however, after the OPR refused to do anything for almost 18 months, now the OPR will use its current investigation to stonewall efforts by the incoming Trump Administration and the U.S. House and Senate to investigate Jack Smith’s team. OPR will refuse to cooperate with Trump Administration investigators claiming they have to “protect the integrity” of the OPR investigation. Various other current and former federal offices will make similar claims. Just watch.
(Like I said, no matter how much you despise these cretins it is not enough.)
Fake News Media Silence
Did you even know a member of Jack Smith’s Special Counsel team reported potential misconduct by the Special Counsel’s office? I bet you did not. That is because the Fake News Media is running a virtual media black out on the story. Outside of a handful of conservative media outlets, the story is getting no press at all.
The Washington Examiner published an informative article about the issue on December 4, 2024, as did The Gateway Pundit, which linked to The Washington Examiner’s article. There are also press releases by the Judiciary Committee itself. Legacy media, however, are not covering the story.
I searched everywhere I could think of as I wrote this article and could not locate a single legacy media report about these revelations. A couple of local newspapers covered the story, but otherwise, the Fake News Media remains mum.
Conclusion
One of the most difficult Fake News Media tactics to report on is what the legacy media WILL NOT COVER. Writing about Fake News Media silence is simply not very engaging. For this reason, I rarely do it. I made an exception here, because the Fake News Media is in the protect the Special Counsel, protect the DOJ, protect the Democrats from Trump mode. Virtually all legacy media reporting currently IGNORES the abuse and weaponization of federal and state law enforcement by the Democrats and the Biden Regime, while falsely, loudly and forcefully claiming President Trump will unfairly target his political opponents. Any reporting that might tend to substantiate or even justify a close look at Jack Smith and his team will not be published by Fake News Media outlets.
The Fake News Media’s willingness to bury or suppress the news is every bit as dangerous as the lies and misinformation they spread. This episode is a good reminder of that. They will bury any negative story about Jack Smith (especially true stories), while they promote the FALSE narrative that Trump will target his political enemies. And this is done while they ignore, obfuscate and LIE about the fact the Democrats illegitimately targeted Trump and continue to target Republicans in multiple states.
As you read news reports over the coming months, keep all of this in mind. Be certain to get your news from independent sources. And keep tabs on how much important information the Fake News Media won’t report. You will be blown away by what the legacy media WON’T report.
